Studerande ler under en naturkunskapslektion

Kvinnofolkhögskolan is a feminist folk high school located in the center of Gothenburg, Sweden. The school is attended by adult women and transgender persons of different ages, with various backgrounds, goals and study habits.

We offer courses at elementary and secondary school level, feminist oriented courses and different thematic courses. All courses are taught from gender perspectives.

Education at folk high schools is often project based and students work in small groups. It also takes into account the needs, previous knowledge and experiences of the course participants, allowing them significant possibilities to together influence the direction and content of their studies.

For many years, Kvinnofolkhögskolan has collaborated with popular education and feminist organizers in Asia, Africa, Latin America and other parts of Europe. These international contacts makes it possible to compare circumstances in different parts of the world. The school also cooperates with many groups within Sweden and almost every evening its premises are used by different groups active in the feminist movement.
